Her shoes stepping in tune with the rhythmic words sounding in her head, Niku's memorization gave her poetic stanzas that were rather amusing to her. How a girl could portray such "feelings" to her "lover" made her smirk. These idiots could never honestly last for over a few years. Only those from the olden times could have that possibility, and very few of those couples existed any longer. As she pushed the poem back further into her mind, her footsteps were a bit fast now. Nikushimi glanced at the neighborhood around her. Probably wouldn't be any food here, she thought irritatedly. Not unless she wanted to knock on strangers' doors until she finally found a suitable prey. A sigh escaped her mouth. Holding her stomach, Niku stared at the sky as she walked, eyes filled with despair. Hunger gnawed at her and she cursed under her breath.
While she walked, Niku's sight remained on the sky. When she returned her gaze forward, surprise hit her expression, and the spirit's face collided with a street lamp. "Damn it!" she spat, sitting on the ground with her hand on her head, where a bruise was definitely forming. Spirits. Even though they held the title as a ghost-like figure, few could actually be unaffected by objects, walk through walls, things like that. "What a bother," she muttered, standing back up. When Niku looked to her left (she'd been walking on the left side of the street), she spotted a child, probably not older than five or six, nearby. Truthfully, though she never considered having her own, she was a bit intrigued by children -- so small and adorable. Niku walked over and dropped to a little squat. "Hi, there!" she said, smiling, her eyes bright. "I'm Niku. What's your name?" While she waited for the little girl to reply, she grazed her eyes upon the house in front of them. It could possibly be the child's house, but it might not. Deciding she wouldn't ask, the spirit looked back at the girl, still smiling halfheartedly.

aqua was laying on the ground of her living room waiting for arah to leave for work so that she could go explore more
"ok aqua im leaving ok? be a good girl and stay out of trouble love yu hon!"
"love you to mom"
and then sarah walked outside into the car started it and left for work when aqua couldent hear the engine anymore she jumped up throwing her jacket, backpack and shoes on over hr pale blue dress.
As aqua stepped out of the houe her shoes were barly on her backpack on one shoulder and her coat was messily on. he fixed her coat to look properly and finished putting her shoes on. slipping her arm in the hole of her back packstrap she locked the door her houe key around the small kids neck as a necklace.
her side bangs were put in to two small braids one on each side. she noticed a older person a girl walk into a pole she didnt know why people did that at all. aqua watched as the older girl squatted down in front of her and introduced herself.
"um hi, i'm aqua its nice to meet you niku san?"
Aqua let her eyes wonder to the trail she thought niku would have came from. what was down that trail aqua had no idea but was curious to find out even if it got her in trouble with sarah mama.
"um niku san? whats down that trail down there?"
aqua looked up to look at niku and noticed the half hearted smile but shook it off. A light breeze flew past and played with her hair and dress it was almost pulling her to see whats down that trail. cars and other vehcles past by the street. aqua looked at niku again waiting for her answer.

Niku smiled happily at the interesting, little creature that had so thankfully not been negative about Nikushimi's abrupt approach. When Aqua's voice had asked about the trail, she turned to see where the human child was pointing. Niku immediately recognized the trail as the path to the Spirit World. Realizing that all three neighborhoods around this general area led to that same path, the spirit now understood where all of Yubaba's pigs came from. "Ah, that place over there?" she asked, cocking her head a bit to the right. Her bangs fell over her face, and she swiftly tossed them aside with a smooth movement of her hands.
"That's where Niku's home is," she explained, finger to her mouth. "But you must never go there after sunset or without Niku. Understand?" The spirit's face, still smiling, had gone a bit more serious. As darling as Aqua was, Nikushimi hoped to never find her in the Spirit World. Being trapped there and separated from her family members would be torturous; simply too much for a child to handle, Niku inferred.
Niku truly hoped that Aqua wasn't the kind of adventurous human that enjoyed exploring completely new and unknown places. However, from the expression on her face as she'd gazed towards the slightly eerie path, Niku was ninety percent sure that she'd ask to be taken down that aisle of grass and spiritual dwellings. "Truth be told, it's not a very interesting place," she said, taking a gentle hold of Aqua's hands. "Would you like to get some ice cream? It's much nicer than that old, creepy trail, I promise." Though Niku was quite unfamiliar with what human children liked and took for as bait, but she'd seen many of them eating the frozen dairy treat that she found rather revolting. Still, eating it would be worth the trouble of having to take Aqua to the Spirit World, right? The sun's position was still pretty high above the horizon, but she wasn't certain of taking any risk at the moment.

aqua nodded when asked if she ment that trail and listened as she replied down the path was her home.
"ok i wont go there with out you or after sunset i promise. but am i alwed to visit you during the day?"
aqua understood that she cant go there after dark or without niku but wondered why it didnt seem intresting. she shrugged it off though. Aqua smiled when niku lightly took a hold of her hand and asked if she wanted ice cream.
"ok! thanks niku san!"
aqua smiled brightly she seemed to forget about the trail for a while until a new thought appeared. could they go to a park after they got icecream? would niku san even hang around and go to the park after they got icecream or would she go home.
aqua's cheeks puffed a cutely a tiny bit as she was going to ask her.
"can we go to the park afterwards too?"
aqua couldnt go to the park by herself and she never been to one before. when the other kids went and she asked if she could come along they laughed and told her no and to get lost. aqua would have asked sarah to take her but she was busy with work and taking care of aqua so she never asked. Aqua took up exploring even though she didnt really know what she would find when she explored but she had slowly found the joy in it. she never went somwhere where she was not alowed to be because she didnt want to get in trouble with it later.
aqua walked towards the icecream stand still holding nikus hand.

( ( Make sure you capitalize your letters, Aqua~ I completely forgot about that 'til now, ROFL. XDDD ) )
A musical laugh sounded from Niku. "Ah . . . I don't think my, erm, friends would be too happy to see a visitor so soon again," she said, hoping the child would mistake her words as her friends being a bit antisocial rather than as an insult. Still, she wasn't very old -- it'd be a good thing for her to never know the experience of coming into the Spirit World. Still, Nikushimi couldn't help but think of the one day that she could possibly actually achieve a bit of closeness with Aqua. Such a sweet girl, Niku wouldn't mind being the guardian of her for a long while. But rules were rules; it wasn't considered very good for spirits to get too mixed up with humans, lest they be even more drawn to the Spirit World.
When Aqua requested they go to the park as well, Niku veered off of the street and over to the other side, opposite of their original destination. "There's a park not too far away that has a few food stands around it, too. That way, it'll be a lot less work for us to walk around!" she explained happily. A slightly cold wind blew across the town, and Niku was certainly glad she'd decided not to dress as revealingly as she usually did. A dark green jacket shielded her from the breeze, and her eyes looked towards Aqua in wonderment if the kid had a jacket of her own, too. It was an obvious sign that summer was beginning to fade, which meant Niku would be starving a bit more often than before. A silent sigh inside her head made her a bit dreary. If only summer could last a few more months longer this year.
Walking a bit further, Niku brought Aqua into the park. A large, high fence surrounded the park, which contained a few trees, fields for soccer/baseball, and many picnic tables. Walking energetically to the ice cream stand, the spirit hoisted Aqua onto her hip to show her the choices the stand had to offer: chocolate, vanilla, cookies 'n' cream, mint chocolate chip, and strawberry. "I'll have a cookies 'n' cream," she told the lady, who stood at the stand, looking rather bored and tired. "What would you like Aqua?" [/blockquote]

(ooc: ok i'll try harder ;P)
Aqua nodded a little sad that she wouldn't be able to visit Niku when she would want to because of her friends. Maybe she lived with her friends and they didnt like others around. She followed niku to the park and was amazed at how big it was. She never saw a playground but it didnt matter. Suddenly she noticed she was up on niku's hip and smiled looking at the flavors.
"can i have a chocolate icecream please?" Aqua looked around the park waiting for the ice cream to be ready. As a way to keep her balance she wrapped her arms around niku's neck lightly so she wouldn't fall. Aqua noticed a small group of kids her age and reconized them from her preschool class. They never would have let her come if she asked them so she was glad niku was with her. they could play a game later on after they finished their icecream.

As the ice cream stall's worker scooped up the frozen treats into the cones, Nikushimi licked at her own, a slight sense of disdain in the back of her throat as the icy coldness slid down through her neck. She shivered a bit, but continued eating her ice cream after paying a few dollars to the server. With Aqua clinging to her as she'd observed most kids would, she felt a bit excited. Niku began walking towards a bench when she spotted a few other children, seemingly about Aqua's age, playing a few feet away from them.
As the spirit sat down, she looked down at the little human kit. "Aqua, would you like to go over and play with those kids over there? They look as old as you -- wouldn't it be fun?" Niku smiled contently. Most children wanted to play with their friends, wouldn't they? She was almost completely sure that Aqua wouldn't be just an exception.
Her hair flowed freely in the breeze, listening as the leaves rustled and squirrels and chipmunks moved about the large park. This was the kind of peace that Niku liked and enjoyed thoroughly; why humans had wanted to destroy these sweet, earthly, completely natural areas for all of those old, torn up buildings would always leave her muddled. There was no reason to act so hatefully of such beautiful places; these humans were simply idiots, she could only assume.
Niku's eyes moved back to the group of kids playing around not too far off, all being carefully watched by their mothers, who conversed with each other about their own children, handling children, and other things of that nature. Her fingers tenderly stroked Aqua's hair, still watching those kids. She took another lick of her ice cream and tensed at the moment when she could feel it as she'd felt it before -- sliding down her throat. "So what about it, Aqua?" she asked again, smiling weakly from the ice cream. "It'll be fun, won't it?"

aqua thought about what had happened a few weeks ago when she had came to the park with sarah mama. The kids were mean to her because she couldent come on her own, they wouldent lat her play with them at all.
"Um no thanks. I dont want to play with them, they were mean to me at preschool."
Aqua took her ice cream from the icecream lady and was carried away to a bench. she felt niku's hand in her hair but it didnt bother her as she ate her icecream. She looked at the kids that were playing, the five year old promised herself and her friend that she would not get too close to any kids her age. Niku was almost just like sora but looked diffrent and older.
A breeze passed by playing with her short hair. She saw that there was a sand box infront of the bench and since aqua finished her small icecream got off the bench and sat down in the sand. Aqua piled up lots of sand into a pile and tried to make a castle. Since there wasnt any toys around to play with she just made a pile and even little holes beside eachother. Aqua dug a hole under the space between the two to make a bridge.
She giggled child like and what she accomplished when she finished and turned towards Niku.
"The big hill is the castle and the holes two holes are the bridges! isnt it pretty?"
while waiting for an answer Aqua put her lags infront of her and began covering tham with sand. and then got up after they were completly buried to see if the was any sand left standing up. they would act as the castle walls to protect the castle. Getting a little bored with the sand she looked at the trees and saw cherry blossems. They looked very pretty in the fall time. even though they were wilting away for the winter to be brought back in the spring and summer.
Aqua got up and jumped back on the bench beside niku.

Nikushimi smiled at the little girl as she created a sandcastle and sand bridges with her imagination. She supposed to a child, these piles and holes could be anything they'd want it to be. Niku could hardly remember her own childhood, could barely remember her parents. She didn't remember what it was like to have such an extensive amount of imagination. But it was entertaining to watch Aqua build a scene with her mind. I wonder if there's a spirit like that, she though, her shining eyes reflecting the sights before her. If this child had the ability to make scenes come to life from her imagination, she'd be an amazing and powerful spirit. She'd be strong and no doubt hold the courage a simple mortal could ever even dream of.
Her gaze lifted from the sandbox and followed Aqua's eyes to the trees. She'd forgotten about this world's beautiful things, such as the cherry blossom trees. They were magnificent in every way possible -- she took a mental image of the scenery, planning to attempt to draw it out later. However, she'd probably screw it up rather badly; Niku was never really artsy. It'd come out as a blob of some sort, most likely.
When Aqua rejoined her on the bench, she looked around. "Is there anywhere else you'd like to go, Aqua?" she asked, searching for ideas. "Shopping? Do you want food or a stuffed animal or clothes?" Niku thought of the money she had in her wallet. Plenty. Those who she'd taken souls from usually had plenty of cash on them. There was no point in leaving the paper to be found by some idiot, so she kept it all in her wallet. They were also great reminders to her of how she'd done so well at hunting. But she never really had anything to spend it on, since nearly everything in the Human World was so dull and boring. Maybe there was something Aqua wanted; Niku wouldn't have minded spending a bit of money on this girl -- she was nothing but sweet.
When she thought back, however, Niku mentally reminded herself to teach Aqua some smarts later on. Following a stranger, even her, was probably not a very good thing. What if it was some disgusting pervert who wanted Aqua to come with him? Niku nearly spat out a curse. She couldn't let poor, defenseless Aqua to be taken advantage of. "Aqua, what do you think of me becoming your godmother?" the spirit proposed cheerfully. "I'll come by and see you almost every day and teach you all the important things you need to know in life!"

Aqua looked back at niku when she heared the older girls voice. When she had asked her if she wanted anything she was about to shake her head no until she remembered that she had wanted to buy a stuffed baby tiger. "Can I have a stuffed baby tiger?" She asked in a soft voice. Tilting her head to the side a tiny bit as if pondering something. She then once again heared niku speack asking if she wants to be her (aqua's) godmother and promises that she will visit alot and teach her lots of stuff which makes aqua nodd happily and hugs niku.
"you promise to visit me alot?"Aqua asks hopefully. Aqua was excited that niku wanted to be her godmother and she wanted her to be her friend also, even if she didnt really know what a god mother was. But who could blame her she was five. She knew not to follow strangers but something in her mind told her it would be alright to follow her and trust her. And Aqua always knew when to trust her insticts. something sora thaught her to do before she moved. Aqua looked and saw that the group of kids were looking at her wondering why she was with a stranger. even some of they parents looked at her but ignored her knowing it was none of their bussiness. The kids then turned away from them and went to continue to play. Aqua now slipped her bunny backpack on and adjusted the straps for a more comfortable fit so it wasnt too loose or too tight.
A few flowers now caught aqua's attention as he tared at a single pink rose. it wasnt the meaning or anything that caught her attenion. she just thought they were pretty. that was all. A thought then suddenly crosed the five year olds mind. how old wa niku? a strange thought yes but it would be nice to know and cool to see how much older she was.
"hey, niku? how old are you?"

Niku laughed gently at the child's inquisitive expression. Cute, she thought. "Sure, Aqua," she said. Then, hearing the five-year-old's agreement to become her goddaughter made her strangely warm inside. Nikushimi nodded with an even odder feeling growing inside of her as her tiny human friend embraced her leg. "There's an adorable, little store around the corner -- let's go there, okay?" She took Aqua's hand. Taking care of a human child . . . Who would've thought this devilish spirit would have ever taken on such a challenge?
Watching the streets up ahead, Niku heard the little girl's voice chime with another question in mind. Her age . . . ? "Ah, that's a rather difficult question," she told Aqua, offering her a small, apologetic smile. "My friends and I don't usually celebrate birthdays, so I've plainly forgotten." Proud of herself for discovering a way to avoid her answer, she realized that rarely did she ever really have to not answer it. She'd always answer it, and usually after the other person's face change to one of horror, she'd devour his soul with a single kiss or place her palm onto the chest of the girl for an instant kill. No human ever really survived know of her real age.
Aqua would not be an exception. Cute and small as she was, Niku thought it unhealthy for a child to grow up learning the flat truth of spirits and whatnot. But perhaps at some point, she'd tell Aqua the truth -- and maybe by then, she'll have shown Aqua a few of her other spiritual friends. It'd be interesting to have an encounter with one of them here in the human world, she'd thought about it, though, with a little grin. I bet they'll be surprised to see me with a human girl -- a combination of the two things I hate most. But Aqua is special; she isn't one of those obnoxious females who assume they know what beauty is. She's a child. One whose personality can change depending on the caretaker. " Shall we go, Aqua?"[/blockquote]
