Mae's eyes flickered to Kiira's face. Her suspicion usually would've made her raise an eyebrow -- however, figuring the twitch would've given away their true feelings, she didn't point anything out. But, she noted, Kiira's expression was much more believable than her own. Watching her run away, Mae exhaled sharply, irritation visible in her face once more. She'd been trying her very best (or close enough) to spare Mizu of her damn feelings, yet the girl still dared to act so thick-skinned? Glancing back at Kiira, she realized the girl was searching the fields for Mizu. "Sure, go ahead," Mae said, a bit astonished that the girl, who she'd basically created explosive, dangerous sparks with only a few minutes ago, would ask her, rather than simply running off. She expressed even more surprise when Kiira offered to allow her to tag along.
Seeing as she had nowhere else to go, Mae could only have made the decision to follow. Sighing, listening as her heels made a heavy thump noise against the stone pavement. "Wait 'til I get my hands on you," she muttered while they made their way down the hill. A white ball of fur caught her attention. "A rabbit!" Her eyes, for the first time since she'd arrived in the abandoned amusement park, glittered with excitement as she pointed at Mizu, followed by a yelp as she realized was unable to stop from running down the rather steep hill.
Throwing off her heels, Mae nearly tackled the bunny, bending down to grab it. But, due to the fact that she'd had many animals (many fast and eager to escape, some slow and too lazy to run) as pets in her past, her hands only gently dug into the rabbit's sides, holding it to her chest as she fell into a roll at a slip of her foot in the grass. Her elbows were held out as she held Mizu securely as she rolled a bit violently (in which she could only thank God that they weren't on solid ground but rather soft grass). Once she stopped rolling, she looked at the rabbit in her arms, supposedly -- hopefully, probably -- unharmed (for she'd had the displeasure of experiencing this kind of occurrence more than once).
Grass stains covered her jeans, and Mae, beaming a joy-filled smile, slipped back into her shoes as she tenderly cradled the bunny and power-walked back over to Kiira. "Look!" she said excitedly. "Isn't she adorable?"

Mizu continued to twirl her feet. "lalalalala" He eyes shifted. Kiira was walking uo the hill, And-Mae was following! Mizu acted natural. Mae Jolted down the hill before saying "A rabbit!". Her eyes widened "huh?" she whispered. Soon mae was rolling and twirling with Mizu in her arm's. This is so inlike her. Why is she-- you know, doing this? she shurgged. A side of Mae had come out. Does she Like animals?? That much--? he thoughts bursted. Thinking of reasonns, explinations, anything.
Mae twirled on the ground, soon getting up and walking up the hill to Kiira. "look!" "ISn't she adorable?" spoke Mae's mouth. "uh-eh" went the noise of her mouth. she moved softly slipping out of Mae's arms. hitting the soft grass. She looked up, her adorable buggy eyes scanning Mae. She now had grass stain's. A SMILE!!? She was suprised. A real smile. Should i telll her its me? Not yet..

I heard Mae's footsteps behind me as I headed toward the field. I slowed down to let her catch up, my eyes never once leaving the field. My eyes darted to every wave of grass--every rustle I heard. Beside me Mae muttered to herself, and I couldn't help but let my smile escape. I took my bamboo sandles off before stepping into the grass, sighing contently as I felt the grass underneath me. "A rabbit!" Mae yelled, making my sensitive ears ring. My senses had been amplified while searching for Mizu, so when Mae yelled, her words shoot right through my eardrum. It didn't help that she was right next to me. I pushed down my spirit animal senses, making my ears stop ringing. I had learned over the years to highten or dull my senses. I remember one time all my senses were hightened for too long, making me pass out. Fortunatly, everything was back to normal when I woke up.
I had just recovered when I heard Mae yelp. I spotted her running down the hill out of control. She was headed towards the creature--a rabbit she called it. The rabbit, however, seemed unaware of her. Or atleast I thought so because it wasn't taking bolting away. It was moving in unnatrual motions, as if....dancing? I narrowed my eyes, trying to get a better view of it. My hand went to my mouth, stiffling a loud gasp as Mae stumbled right into the rabbit, then rolled with it down the hill. I stood frozen, hoping the rabbit--and Mae of course--were unharmed. She stopped rolling at the end of the hill and I held my breath. I breathed a sigh of relief as Mae stood up with the rabbit. I could see the smile on Mae's face--a real one. This one completely changed her look. She strolled quickly over to me, holding the bunny delicatly. "Look! Isn't she adorable?" I didn't smile, but looked suspiciously at the rabbit. I had never seen one before, but she was right, it was adorable. I bent over and stared straight into its eyes. They were large and animal-like, but there was also something different about them. Something almost human... I gave it a knowing smile, finally putting the pieces together.

Mae watched as the rabbit hopped to the ground. "I used to have rabbits," she said, lowering to a squat as she gently stroked the back of Mizu's ears. "None of them were as cute as this little one, though." She paused, eyes squinting as though to see something more clearly, then leaned in closer to the rabbit's face. She looked up at Kiira, who had a strangely suspecting expression. "Kiira, is it odd that I find this rabbit a bit . . . familiar?" Her head tilted to the side, a bit confused, the smile fading into a tiny, bewildered pout.
She picked Mizu up once more, turning her considerately a few times to look at her from a few different angles. Surely she'd have remembered a rabbit like this right away, if she'd seen it before. So obviously, she'd never seen a bunny such as this -- so why did looking into its eyes give her such a vague feeling of remembrance? She gently put the rabbit back down before standing, her arm cross and hand holding her chin as she thought.

Mizu was well aware of her surrondings, She stood as the two examined her. At every glance she twitched and slid. Kiira looked at her weirdly as Mae continued about her. Mizu was basically the spotlight currently. Noe would be good, I guess. Mizu's small face turned tan as she grew taller, her hands and legs returning. her face gained its human form and her hair turned black. Her, now in the air, was surronded by a bubble hardly visible through. She recieved her clothes as the bubble popped, revealing her. "ummm.. hi?"

Mea let the rabbit drop to the ground, but it didn't take off like I thought it would. "I used to have rabbits. None of them were as cute as this little one, though." My smirk was still on my face as I watched the rabbit, my arms crossed over my chest. It was a very confident stance. Mea was stroking the creature, then leaned in closer to it. She seemed to be observing it closely. "Kiira, is it odd that I find this rabbit a bit . . . familiar?" I shook my head slightly. Oh, you have no idea.... But I kept that thought to myself. Maybe you've seen a rabbit like this before or something. But just in mind what I told you about how we have spirits and all.... My voice trailed off. Mea picked up the rabbit again, looking it over. Her face was one of bewilderment and confusion, and I tried not to chuckle.
She put the rabbit down once again, looking it over and over. It looked up at us, then the change happened. Her change was different than mine, and not just because she was a rabbit rather than a cat creature. As it happened I glanced down at my necklace to see it glowing a bit. Not much, but it was a low flare inside of the crystal. My smirk disappeared and I looked at it closer. When Miku finally finished the change, the crystal's glow disappeared. I paused a few seconds, then let it drop against my chest again. "ummm.. hi?" Welcome back, Miku I looked back up at her, then glances at Mae for her reaction.

"No, I'm fairly sure . . ." she said, still trying to figure it out. When Mizu hopped from her hands, Mae's gaze drifted towards Kiira. The sudden holding of her necklace and odd expression she had made Mae quickly realize that something had happened. But once she looked back at the rabbit, she saw at once precisely why it'd seemed so familiar.
Instantly, a flash of anger flared in her expression. Mae's eyes narrowed, and she stood up tall, a frown settling on her face. "So, it must've been fun, eh?" she spat disdainfully. "You're terrible." The taste of hatred appeared, as it so often did when she was in nearly full anger, striking her heart and causing and sending a burst of shivers down her spine. Deceived. Though it was a minor detail of her day, this had to be one of those worst moments.
Basically made a fool of, she thought, crossing her arms. Intentional or not, she cared no longer. Mizu had taken too many a step over her line of irritation. She was on her bad side now, and it was unlikely the shape-shifting spirit would ever return to Mae's less bad-spirited and kind side. Mae's glare, set on Mizu's non-rabbit figure, was dark and sinister -- the aura of sincere annoyance could be felt at once.

Mizu frowneed. "Whats the big deal it wasn't on purpose." Mizu turned. "Well yes i should be going. Goodbye." Her flats hit the ground as she ran off. The rabbit girl made her way through the stalls to the Bathhouse, now empty. The gardeny side of the house was hard to reach. She slipped through the end of the bridge to the siding, Climbing a tree to overlook the town. The sun was now setting over the area and was making a slight glow to the people. Soon the spirits would be coming out to feast, and work.
Still. Mae was there and would be turned into a pig unless employed. "Beautiful" mizu spoke as the sun grey darker. Her legs gained a bent possition as she leaned, hoping not to fall. The graden was very small, wasn't even a garden, just to mizu.

Mae's reaction was negative, that was for sure. Anger flashed in her eyes. "So, it must've been fun, eh? You're terrible." I rolled my eyes, knowing Mizu was now on Mae's bad list, and that Mae was taking it a bit too far. I could feel her irritation radiating off her and my lips turned up ever so slightly. "Whats the big deal it wasn't on purpose. Well yes i should be going. Goodbye." She turned on her heals and ran off towards to the Bathhouse. I watched her till she disappeared inside. What...the hell? I mumbled to myself. That girl was so...random? I couldn't think of the word, but I'm sure there was a name for a girl like her. I shook my head, then turned to Mae. As much as I'd love to chase after her again, why don't we just head back to the Bathhouse? I can show you around. The sarcasm in my voice was evident.
I started walking toward the Bathhouse again. I walked slowly though, enjoying the field while I could. When I got to the stone step I took them up by two's, stumbling when part of it broke off from underneath me. I recovered, then continued along the path. How long have we been out here? I watched as the sun began to sink, turning the sky a gorgous pink. My pace quickened, knowing I'd get in trouble for not being there for my shift. My steps became ridged, and when I glanced in a passing mirror I saw someone who looked concerned, almost panicky.

Mae rolled her eyes as Mizu ran away once more. Going after that girl would be completely unreasonable, in her opinion. After all, they'd found her once already -- if she wanted to converse with them, she wouldn't run away again, would she? Not unless she was an idiot, of course. Chasing her again would be irritating and less than halfhearted. It appeared Kiira was equally unwilling. "The bathhouse?" Mae murmured, searching her mind. "Oh! That big place we passed earlier?"
Following beside and slightly behind Kiira, Mae realized the girl's slow steps had become fast -- a glimpse at her face when she'd taken a quick glance at a mirror showed her an expression of frantic worry. "Hey, why are we rushing?" she asked, struggling to keep up with her, Mae's heels clicking against the wooden bridge. Truth be told, the sound was alright when she was walking slowly, but now the constant and rushed noises aggravated her.

Mizu watched the sky as it lowered. "amazing". Her head fell down seeing the too, kira was rushing into the bathhouse. "Thats right, her shift, AND MINE!" Mizu jumped from the tree, now running infront of kira, and mae. Shifting to the left she tripped tumbling into a summersaut, and landing on the stone. "damn.." she whispered as she rubbed her leg. its not like me to cuss. She pointed out.
(sorry so short ran out of ideas)

We came to the bridge and we transitioned from rock to wood, the sound of our--her steps--echoed. My steps were completely silent, even has I was rushing across the bridge in simple wooden sandles. Even then did I hear no sound from myself. I hoped Mae wouldn't notice, but then again I thought her own footsteps were loud enough. "Hey, why are we rushing?" Her voice sounded behind me. I racked my mind for an answer, and the went with the easiest one. I need to make sure I get back for my work shift. I work at the Bath house, and I was thinking maybe since I worked there you could get exclusive stuff. Wouldn't that be nice? A free soak in one of our famous baths. Plus, if you don't already have a job, I could get you one. That was the truth, but not the whole truth. I knew that the spirits came when it got dark. Not that it really mattered because even if she did try to run back to her parents, she wouldn't be able to. The field would be flooded and it would be too far a swim--a never ending swim actually. There was a special charm on that "lake" that made a meer mortal never be able to reach the other end. I had learned because there was a human boy who had tried to swim back. He ended up drowing. This may not of been that bad if it weren't for the fear of human law enforce officers searching our paradise. They never came to our relief.
I also knew that the other truth is that bringing her to the bath house was the secret part of my job. Usually this wasn't a problem for me, for I never in any way grew attached to any of the humans. Now, for some reason, I was resentless. I kicked myself for going on our "little adventure" and to get to know Mae.
We came to the edge of the bridge, and I halted. The bath house loomed in front of us. I took a deep breath, then continued on, the wood changing back to rock. There was still no sound from my steps. Something bolted passed us, then tumbled to the ground. It was Mizu again, who cursed under her breath. I walked casually up to her and held out my hand, making sure not to show any irritation in my expression. In case she wasn't convinced, I gave her a slight smile. You okay?

Mae's pace slowed with uncertainty. "I don't know," she said, her gaze lowering. "It's already getting dark, isn't it? My grandma is probably really worried right now. I should be getting back." Her feet began to turn in a step, when Mizu suddenly appeared in a flash on the ground. Mae stared at the girl for a few seconds before any reaction really occurred. As Kiira held out her hand to Mizu with a smile that she knew too well, she searched and sifted through plenty of thoughts in her mind. There really didn't seem to be much to see around here, and although she'd just been offered a free soak in a bath, something in her mind ticked. Suspicion was ringing in every thought that raced through her mind, yet, for some reason, she tried to find reason. They' actually seem sort of nice . . . If I take up a job here, wouldn't I be able to help Grandma out with the bills and all? I could go to school during the day and work part-time here at night.
Grandma always said I'm a fighter -- I can live off of a few hours of sleep a day. Yes. She found reason against everything her conscience about this strange area. Yet she couldn't bring herself to actually make a decision. She should tell her grandmother before actually taking the job, shouldn't she? If she were to take the job now, she'd probably have to begin working right away if this bathhouse was really famous. " Kiira, can I come back some other time? I have to get home and help my grandmother with dinner. I'd really like that job, though -- would the position still be open if I came back tomorrow?" Mae's voice was nearly that of a pleading beggar at the end. She wanted this job. She wanted to help her grandmother out, repay her grandmother for taking such excellent care of her as a child. But she also wanted this job because . . . she honestly found these two spirits, Kiira -- someone much like herself -- and Mizu -- someone who was very frustrating and strange, yet had the ability to transform herself into a rabbit -- rather interesting. She was curious.[/blockquote]

Mae's response made me scowl in frustration. I don't know. It's already getting dark, isn't it? My grandma is probably really worried right now. I should be getting back. For once today, I was thankful for Mizu's random appearance. It had stalled Mae's departure long enough for me to get a moment to think. The next thing I know, my masked smile turned into a smirk.
I pulled my hand away, not caring if Mizu had been reaching out to grasp it or not. Mae's voice rang behind me. Kiira, can I come back some other time? I have to get home and help my grandmother with dinner. I'd really like that job, though -- would the position still be open if I came back tomorrow? I took a second to think about it, all while turning to face Mae with unnatural fluidity. I noted how she started with my full name as I had instructed her when I first met her. Her request sounded urgent, and my expression softened for a few heartbeats when she mentioned her grandmother. I knew I couldn't assume she was just living with her grandma, but the way she asked if the position was still opened made it sound as if she needed the job. For who? Just herself? Or for her family? Did she have siblings to care for as well? I pushed the questions away. I mean, why should I care? It wasn't my job to care or understand the person I was luring into the bathhouse; it was my job to just do it. Yet...there I was...
I glanced at the position of the sun. It was sinking fast. Usually, I wouldn't let them leave in fear they wouldn't come back. The thought of getting in trouble for letting them escape visibly struck fear into my eyes. I pushed the thought away and finally answered Mae's question. I knew she would come back. Yes, the job will be opened tomorrow. Just find your way to the boiler's room. There are stairs leading down to it on the side of the bath house. Ask Kamajii for Kiira, and I'll be there ASAP. I glanced back up at the sun--almost sundown. Hurriedly I also added, And make sure you come back in the morning. Now go quickly! I stepped forward, turned Mae, and pushed her back toward the field. It was up to Fate whether she made it back through the tunnel before night came. I leaned against the side of the bridge, waiting.

Kiira's assurance that the position would still be open the next day brought hopeful thoughts that flooded into Mae's mind. With a twinge of excitement, she nodded at her soon-to-be co-worker's directions. “Okay, I'll be here first thing tomorrow,” she promised, her bright eyes gleaming with anticipation. She'd soon have her first .job with the permission of her grandmother – the bills wouldn't be as difficult to pay, and her grandmother could even take a few days off of her job. Glancing in the direction of the bathhouse, Mae scanned the scene for the stairs. She easily spotted them and a giddiness flared inside of her. However, when the spirit shoved her towards the direction of the clocktower from which she'd first arrived, confusion caused her to pause for a split second and look back before running as fast as she could back to the tunnel.
As her footsteps thudded against the grassy ground, Mae took a final fleeting glance at Kiira, leaning against the bridge, and Mizu, still lying on the ground. Uncertain of the feeling she was experiencing now, the human ran through the tunnel to find her way back home. Her footsteps echoed loudly and she raced to her grandmother. This would be an absolutely amazing new addition to her life, Mae was certain. Little happened back home, but this job would help the both of them a lot. As she pondered about what she'd do at the bathhouse and how much she'd possibly get paid, she began to wonder about the little theme park. At first, she'd thought it was completely abandoned -- but then there was Mizu, Kiira, and the strange food. They spoke of "spirits" but what did that mean? She'd witnessed Mizu's transformation from rabbit to human, but did that mean Kiira could transform as well?
Opening the door to her small house, Mae scratched her head. Maybe I can ask her later, she thought, taking off her shoes. I'll see her the moment I wake up tomorrow, anyway. For now, I just have to convince Grandma.
